MORATORIUM – Canada Wildfires
Effective May 13, 2024, Great American's Property & Inland Marine is under a moratorium for the Canadian wildfires. We have suspended binding for all new business and changes to existing policies for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta & British Columbia & Manitoba. The following restrictions apply until further notice:
1. Coverage may not be bound for any new Builder's Risk policies for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta & British Columbia & Manitoba.
2. No changes may be made to existing in-force policies to add new locations/increase limits/add new coverages for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta & British Columbia & Manitoba.
3. Any exceptions to this should be referred to your underwriter.
We will honor all outstanding extensions as quoted, but any new business will not be bound in the impacted province(s) until this moratorium ends. Please contact your underwriter with any questions. For additional information on current active wildfires, please reference:

Please advise your clients in the affected areas to follow the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry guidelines to protect their construction sites and move property out of restricted zones.
